Wolf’s Spirit

The fascinating series “The spirit of the Wolf” created in 2016 in combined technique, depicts wolfs in different postures and movements. The colors are laid on the backgrounds with the help of spatula and calligraphic brush. The paintings are expressive; some of them minimalistic in their essence and it are possible to detect the influence of Japanese calligraphy. There is a use of the background as part of the composition. This new way of painting enables her more dynamism, diversity and connection to the inner self with no constrictions of outer lines. They are typified in vigor and freedom, in contrast to her earlier paintings, which were typified by naturalistic accuracy and defined lines. Painting with spatula and calligraphic brush and combining materials as black ink, acrylic colors, and pandas interesting combinations both texturally and compositionally.
