The Ocean Fragments Project deals with the severe distress of aquatic life due to the human damage of coral
reefs and water quality.
Although the impairment of the oxygen levels
in the oceans as a result of industrial and agricultural chemical pollution is
not a new phenomenon, it has however been exacerbated in recent years by the
climate crisis. The oceans absorb most of the excessive heat produced by global
warming, and as the water temperature rises their ability to contain oxygen
decreases accordingly.
In this mixed paper and canvas technique, Shayel uses natural beet color extract as a first layer in the paintings, followed by a self-made geometric mold print, and acrylic color
illustrations.
After
After the desert, I am all cracks,
The rains have come.
After I fell, I disintegrated into pieces, in great silence
of alone with everything.
In the darkness, webs of light emerge.
Fragments, fragments, water drops, glittering on the magical web Of the ocean.
